Tripel Karmeliet is still brewed to an authentic beer recipe from 1679 originating in the former Carmelite monastery in Dendermonde. Written over 300 years ago, this recipe describes the use of three kinds of grain: wheat, oats and barley. The name Tripel karmeliet thus refers both to its origin and its in-bottle refermentation. From many trial brews of multigrain tripels carried out at our brewery in the 90s, it appears that the particular historic combination of the 3 kinds of grain still remains the ideal blend.

Was first brewed in 1934 and the recipe has not changed since 1956. It is made with pale candy sugar and has a very pale color produced from a mash of light pilsener malts. Styrian Goldings hops are used along with some German varieties and the classic Saaz pilsener hop. After a long secondary fermentation, the Tripel Westmalle is bottled with a dose of sugar and yeast. This beer holds up well in the bottle over time and seems to soften with age.

St.Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer and sometimes also referred to as a dark tripel. The original recipe dates back to the times when we still brewed under licence (1946-1992). Named ‘World’s Best Dark Belgian Style Dubbel’ on the World Beer Awards, in other words, the best Dubbel beer in the world. St.Bernardus Prior 8 is chestnut brown, emitting a deep red glow and presenting a lovely rounded head. The beer stands out with its fruity aroma, reminiscent of tree fruits like red apples, but complemented by exotic touches of figs and dates. The whole is rounded off perfectly by impressions of caramel and roast malt. The full taste is malty and fruity in equal measure and achieves the perfect balance between bitter and sweet.

From the recipe by Peter Josef Früh of the family brewery, this top-fermented specialty beer features the best ingredients and is brewed according to the German Purity Law. A favourite beer of Cologne, which became one of the city’s original.

Marrellomorpha is our first bock and expression of our love for smoked beers. A deep red coloured beer that balances fruity and smokiness and provides a warming and comforting drinking experience.

Seit 15 Jahren braut Browar Pinta Grodziskie. Anlässlich dieses Jubiläums wurden wir eingeladen, unsere Interpretation dieses historischen Rauchbiers aus dem Posener Land zu brauen. Dort trank man Grodziskie schon im Mittelalter. Im 20. Jahrhundert verschwand der Bierstil, bevor Pinta das Bier 2010 zurück auf den Markt brachte. Für das Schlenkerla Grodziskie verwenden wir Weizenrauchmalz, das über offenem Eichenholzfeuer in unserer hauseigenen Mälzerei getrocknet wurde, und besonders aromatischen Hopfen aus Lubelski. ----- Browar Pinta has been brewing Grodziskie for 15 years. To mark this anniversary, we were invited to brew our interpretation of this historic smoked beer from the Poznań region. Grodziskie was already being enjoyed there in the Middle Ages. The beer style disappeared in the 20th century before Pinta revived it in 2010. For Schlenkerla Grodziskie, we use smoked wheat malt, dried over an open oak fire in our own malt house, and particularly aromatic hops from Lubelski.

Bamberg’s speciality, a dark, bottom fermented smoked beer, brewed with Original Schlenkerla Smokemalt from the Schlenkerla maltings and tapped according to old tradition directly from the gravity-fed oakwood cask in the 14th century brewery tavern.

For our anniversary brew we pull out the big guns! This 14.1% imperial stout was bourbon barrel aged with whole coffee beans, cocoa and chili.

MAD SCIENTIST BARREL PROJECT Port Wine Barrel-aged Barley Wine With Cinnamon And Honey CELLAR MASTER NOTES Oh, you cinnamonical phantasmagoria, rise now and come to life! Adding cinnamon to your beer is almost always a good idea, but this time we really wanted to create something crazy (to be honest, we do this on a daily basis). We used tons of cinnamon sticks and roasted them well, so we ended up with a more intense and sharp flavor that pairs well with the red fruity-caramelly-nutty base embracing perfectly the sweetness of the unfermented honey. Not gonna lie, it's not that hard to figure out the source of inspiration here, as we tried to get the same intense, hot, cinnamon flavors as the infamous whiskey liquor goes. If you ask us, we nailed it.

De vatgelagerde versie van de Imperial Stout die speciaal is gebrouwen voor de 25ste verjaardag van het Arendsnest. Het bier heeft 4 maanden gerijpt op Zuidam jenevervaten, die bij hoge uitzondering beschikbaar waren gesteld voor dit bijzonder goede doel. Nog eentje dan! is de 15de en laatste editie van het KiKa bier dat jaarlijks door Peter van der Arend wordt gebrouwen. In 15 jaar is met deze bieren totaal meer €100.000,- opgehaald. In 2011 lanceerde Peter van der Arend na de geboorte van zijn jongste dochter, Mikkie, een bier om dit te vieren. Hij wilde er geen geld aan verdienen, maar gratis uitdelen was ook geen optie. De gehele opbrengst ging dus naar het geweldige goede doel: KiKa. In 2014 werd de oudste dochter Roos, en beetje "boos”. Roos kreeg haar zin en de biertjes werden vanaf toen elk jaar om en om vernoemd naar Roos en Mikkie.

Poesiat & Kater’s Van Vollenhoven Extra Stout is based on a recipe from the original Van Vollenhoven brewery that existed in Amsterdam during the 18th century. It has a rich full malt body with roasted flavor notes. This was the top selling beer in the Netherlands in the second half of the 19th century and was shipped all over the world. bottling date: 13/05/2025 For this version of our samphire lambik, we extensively aged it further on German oak and acacia wood barrels after the initial maceration. This brings the weighted average age of this blend to more than 31 months upon bottling. All of the cereals that we used while brewing the eight different lambics in this blend, were sourced in Pajottenland

Oude Geuze Boon is a monument of taste with an alcohol content of 7%. It’s a magnificent blend of 90% mild 18 month-old lambic, 5% strong 3 year-old beer and 5% very young lambic, which provides fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. All our beers are aged in oak casks, mixed in a vessel of 25,000 litres and chilled. Before bottling, we bring the mix to fermentation temperature. The bottles are then placed in an air-conditioned room, which leads to a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is when the lambic becomes gueuze. After several months of aging in the bottle, the gueuze develops its delicate flavour. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the “best before” date! Taste carefully and you will uncover a fruity grapefruit and ginger flavour with a hint of Muscat grapes. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the wholehearted body and the sublime finish – an explosion of Germanic and Romance cultures.

APHRODITE is the Greek goddess of love, embodied by the deep pink hue of the grotesque amount of raspberries we added to this nimble kettle sour. We think you’ll fall head over heels in love with the massive fruit character and eminent drinkability of this seductive little beer.

In the first days, everything was black, barren, void of meaning. Life hid in the shadows and was kept at bay by nothingness. In the world's stillest moment, a thunderous crack divided the skies. From the parched rock, water burgeoned forth, spilled over the black mountains and the Spirit Iyapa's presence was imparted. What began as a whisper turned to a roar of life. Cell by cell, plant by plant, a vibrant world emerged. Glowing white fruits, deep green Genesis is brewed with over 200 lbs of Mango, Papaya, Goava and Pineapple and aged for 6-12 months in a variation of white wine barrels. Each batch is artfully blended to accentuate the tropical and wild nature of the yeast and fruit. Jungles, and indigo waters painted the landscape. Under the watchful eye of Iyapa, creation grew in complexity and depth, and thrived in the wildness.

Medora is a blonde sour ale aged in red wine barrels with one pound of blackberries and raspberries per gallon. The result is a beautiful, fuchsia ale with bright berry character. The daughter of a king, Medora was wrought with the burden of expectations. Her father did his utmost to speak confidence into his young daughter. Time passed and with it the king, leaving Medora his sole heir. Her melancholy deepened. One night a great meteor flashed across the northern sky. Her father's words lit into her heart: "Choose happiness; no expectation of circumstance can usurp your will to rejoice in them." Medora thrived, and as for imposed expectations; she never gave them credence again.

Formerly of the Canvas Series, this Barrel-Aged American Sour undergoes secondary fermentation on a pound-per-gallon of Montmorency Cherries. A portion of this beer was also aged in barrels with almonds to impart an Amaretto character to the final blend. Montmorency+Amaretto=Montmaretto.

Myrtille is a golden sour ale aged in neutral wine barrels. Two pounds per gallon of fresh, whole North Carolina grown blueberries contribute an earthy and tannic backbone to this uniquely southern sour. When the time is right, the barrels are blended to achieve the perfect balance of berry and house Brett culture.

Oblivion is a Sour Red ale that is aged with blackberries and dates in red wine barrels for up to 12 months. The beer is then carefully blended to create depth and balance that will envelope you in its complexity. Dust enveloped the sky as his feet set down on the fiery dirt. Drei reported his location and prayed for a response. None answered. He looked once more at a worn picture of his wife, and stepped into oblivion. A luminous glow emitted from the giant cave and gave him hope, and he wondered if it could be his salvation. Abruptly, the earth shifted, cracked and fell into darkness. When the fury ceased, Drei stared into the abyss but he was no longer alone. Glowing creatures surrounded him, casting light throughout the cave. The beauty overwhelmed him and he almost forgot: this was the end.

Formerly of the Canvas Series, Recurrant is a deep, vibrant, red sour ale that begins its life by aging in freshly emptied cabernet barrels on over 1 pound per gallon of black currants. Here, patience and delicate blending create one of the most complex and wine-like beers in our portfolio. The crimson kaleidoscope claimed Graigor nightly. Trembling and pressing the ring to his eye transported him into a prism of spinning color and euphoria. He clambered, metamorphosed, into the softly tilting complexity of amber and crimson. His curving claws clicked, two by two, as he fought to keep his grasp on reality. Each spinning layer enraptured him further, and each night his journey recurred, until slowly, insidiously, his metamorphosis became complete.

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Black Sour Ale with Coffee and Vanilla Silencio is a sour black ale artuflly aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels. The addition of Madagascar vanilla beans and El Silencio coffee from local Mountain Air Roasting culminates in a complex and elevated sour ale.

This can contain spontaneously fermented cider made from organic Danish Topaz apples. Bone dry and dry-hopped with Simcoe hops this cider brings all kinds of summer vibes to the table. Low Five is an alcohol-free classic IPA with a slightly bitter hop character. Aroma and taste of citrus and passion fruit.

Brewing a non alcohol beer to challenge the taste buds and also go well with food is a challenge. Nøgne Ø Svart/Hvit is in our opinion such a beer. Dark, flavorful and exhilarating. Diversity? Yes, please!

Do-Ri-N-Ku is our low alcohol sour with citrus peel and Cascade, Citra and Mosaic hops. In our humble opinion, this is the drink of the future: light, refreshing and natural. Oh: it won a Bronze Medal in the Dutch Beer Challenge 2020 (category low&no alcohol). 美味い (u-ma-i) ?
