Less info ▴Especially for the 5 year anniversary of the Beertemple in Amsterdam we were asked to create an awesome westcoast style IIPA. Our answer was the big fat double 5 IPA. With 5 hop varieties and some love the beer got a warm welcome! However, the owner of the Beertemple was so impressed he decided to have the beer as his new house-beer! Eventually it became the house beer of the Beertemple, ‘t Arendsnest & Craft&Draft; all located in Amsterdam. The Big Fat Double 5 was given the Gold medal in the Dutch beer challenge for best Imperial IPA of the Netherlands.

This unfiltered IPA projects a mesmerizing goldenrod-colored hue with a refreshing, low-bitterness mouthfeel. With its unique expression of Mosaic and Idaho 7 hops, AFK forms a pillowy-soft haze from oats and wheat that will bring your tastebuds to life. This is what we reach for (responsibly) when we say #ImAFK

This is a double IPA version of the beer we brewed in Philly back in July, and that ish was Ridiculoid. We just decided to make this one pink. Hopped with Cascade, Amarillo, Galaxy and Crystal. Pilsner malt + lots of different kinds of wheat. Fermented with a historic blend of proprietary yeasts.

It pours a very hazy orange, releasing well-blended notes of apricot, tangerine, peach, mango, and pineapple. It tastes of soft juicy tropical fruits, hop resins, and a hint of biscuit. A smooth rounded bitterness with a touch of dryness ensures you’re ready for the next sip. This drinking experience is further enhanced with a soft and billowy mouth-feel that has made this the go to ale for the Equilibrium crew, especially when a productive day needs to follow a fun night.

We are happy to report that the series has done its job again and has opened up the door to another favorite. dHop 19 is our latest iteration in the series to make a big splash. It features a combination of some of our favorite hops. We started off with a blend of 2 row, white wheat, torrefied wheat, oat malt, and flaked oats before our all citra whirlpool and and our first ever 100% galaxy dry hop. The result is a very strong tropical nose with very pronounced fruit flavors. Smooth but pungent citrus and passionfruit flavors dominate with a very strong EQ juice buildup and an ending that leaves you with with a super soft mouthfeel and finish. We love this beer so much that it’s a high contender for promotion from our Research to Equilibrium Series and it may make its debut at our South Street Grand Opening.
Less info ▴Named one of RateBeer’s Best of 2018, Hop Wave 2 takes one of our favorite DIPAs, dHop2, supersizes the hop charge and adds a touch of lactose. We mentioned during the dHop14/and Hop Wave 14 release that we’ve had our experiments on high, where we were able to create an intense amount of the “EQ juice” at the small scale and we’ve been working on applying this to commercial batches. We’ve made great progress in the lab, and while experiments remain on high, we believe this batch exhibits the EQ juice we’re looking for. Hop Wave 2 pours a very murky tangerine color, releasing notes of bright tropical juice, pulpy tangerine, and earthy grass. The taste is dank-citrus, pine juice, with an escalating bright finishes that builds into smooth hop frosting.
Less info ▴Meerts is our take on the style of beer traditionally derived from the second runnings of Lambic. Our modern interpretation begins with Pilsner malt, raw wheat, and Saaz hops, which is brewed using a turbid mash and long boil, and fermented in French oak foeders with our wild yeast. This version was then refermented on Montmorency cherries for two months prior to bottle conditioning.
